Annoying, but totally fixable. Here's what to do:
Tip: Switched phones or Apple IDs? That's usually the culprit. Restore Purchase on the new device and you're golden.
Not currently. Subscriptions are tied to the platform you originally purchased on. If you signed up on an iPhone, your subscription won't carry over to an Android device, and the same applies in reverse. If you'd like to switch platforms, you'll need to purchase a new subscription on your new device.
You can't cancel from inside the app. It goes through your phone's settings. Here's how:
Heads up: Deleting the app does NOT cancel your subscription. You'll keep getting charged until you cancel through Settings. Don't skip this step!
Refunds depend on where you bought your subscription:
Tip: Not sure where you bought it? Check your email for a receipt. It'll say either Apple, Google, or CalAI.
The family plan invitation system has been fixed, so things should work smoothly now. If someone is still hitting the free trial page after accepting their invite, reach out to us and we'll sort it out manually.
CalAI is about 80% accurate. No food tracking app is perfect, and calories and nutrition values can vary. A few things that help a lot:
If it's still way off after updating, shoot us a screenshot with the error and we'll dig in.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. This fixes it in most cases. If it's still happening after that, reach out and we'll investigate.
Not yet. CalAI doesn't support direct imports from MyFitnessPal right now. You can log meals going forward via photo scan, barcode scan, or manual search.
We've heard this request before and it's on our radar. Stay tuned!
CalAI requires iOS 18 or higher on iPhone, and Android 10 or higher. If you're on an older OS version, you may still be able to open the app but could run into performance issues. We recommend keeping your phone updated to get the best experience.
Try these steps:
This resolves the issue in most cases. If it's still crashing after that, share your device model and OS version with us and we'll check for known bugs.
Heads up: Your data is safely stored in the cloud. Uninstalling and reinstalling will not delete your data as long as you log back in with the same account.
Your data is safely stored in the cloud. Try logging back in with the same account you used before and it should reappear. If it's still missing after logging in, share the email address linked to your CalAI account with our support team and we'll look into it for you.
A few quick things to check:
If you're still seeing an error, grab a screenshot and send it our way.
This usually happens when multiple apps (like Garmin Connect and Health Sync) are both writing steps to Apple Health or Google Fit at the same time, and CalAI reads all of them and adds them up.
The fix: pick one source and disable the others from writing to Apple Health / Google Fit. CalAI can't manually adjust step counts, so cutting off the duplicate source is the way to go.
Nobody wants 20 notifications a day. Dial it back right now through your phone settings:
We've also passed this feedback to our product team to make notification settings easier to manage inside the app.
Unfortunately not. You'd need to sign up again with a new email to use a referral code. If you've already purchased a subscription, the referral code can't be applied retroactively.
